Our priorities for Wallasey:

  • Protecting our green spaces
  • Getting lifts installed at Wallasey Village station
  • Stopping Labour's £12m cycle lane on Seaview Road, Hose Side Road, Grove Road and Warren Drive
  • Getting a better deal for our local shopping centres. Tell us your views here

1. Steve Hoey

Steve lives in Wallasey and previously worked to ensure older people in Wirral received the care and financial support needed to remain in their own homes.

  • Steve lives opposite Belvidere Playing Fields.
  • For the last couple of years he cared for his late wife, Gill
  • Volunteers at Community Soul cafe in Wallasey Village
  • Former volunteer driver with Age UK Wirral

2. Councillor Ian Lewis

Ian is one of the local councillors in Wallasey Ward. 

  • Previously worked to help young people gain apprenticeships
  • Ian has set up the group that is going to reopen Wallasey Village Library
  • Member of Clatterbridge Cancer Centre and Wirral University Teaching Hospital
  • Previously received the Andy Day Memorial Award
  • Treasurer of Wallasey Village People - raising money for Christmas lights in the village

3. Councillor Lesley Rennie

Lesley is one the local councillors in Wallasey Ward.

  • Member of Merseyside Fire & Rescue Authority, where she voted to retain Wallasey's fire station.

'Mindless' theft of defib from Harrison Park

A newly installed defibrillator in one of Wirral’s most popular parks has been stolen, in a move condemned as ‘mindless’ by a local councillor.

The ‘defib’ was installed in Harrison Park, Wallasey less than two months, as part of the rollout of 46 additional kits in the borough.

Plans for 17 houses on grazing land in Wallasey

A planning application has been submitted to Wirral Council that could see 17 houses built on the grazing land bounded by Greenleas Road, Greenleas Close, Leasowe Road and the North Wallasey Approach slip road.
