Ian is one of our two local Conservative councillors in Wallasey Ward, working with Councillor Lesley Rennie. 

In 2008, Ian was elected as the first ever Conservative Councillor in Leasowe & Moreton East Ward and represented the ward until 2014.

Ian was re-elected in Wallasey Ward in May 2023 with 2,370 votes.

  • Previously worked to help young people gain apprenticeships
  • Founding Trustee of Wallasey Village Library and Community Centre
  • Member of Clatterbridge Cancer Centre and Wirral University Teaching Hospital
  • Awarded the Andy Day Memorial Award for work as a councillor

Since being elected in 2023, Ian has:

  • Worked to re-open Wallasey Village Library
  • Had more of our green spaces given protection than anywhere else in Wirral
  • Fought Labour's plans for cycle lanes across our community

Ian is now working to:

  • Secure improvements to Grove Road Station
  • Update the children's play areas at Wallacre and Harrison Park
  • Persuade the Council to install a safer crossing on Bayswater Road
