The 80th Anniversary of Victory over Japan Day ('VJ Day') was commemorated at Wallasey's War Memorial in a service organised by the Wallasey British Legion.

Councillor Gary Bennett laid a wreath on behalf of the five Conservative Councillors in the Wallasey constituency, while John Codling laid a wreath on behalf of the Liberal Democrats.
