Plans to completely rebuild The Mosslands School have been approved by Wirral Council.
The £57m scheme, announced by the previous Government in 2023, received unanimous backing from the Strategic Applications Subcommittee at the meeting on Thursday 23 October.
The plans will see demolition of the existing school and erection of a new 3-storey main building, two sports halls; formation of new and replacement playing fields and sports facilities and provision of new car park. There will also be new facilities for students with special educational needs.
Other benefits include:
- Replacement playing fields and pitches at Wallacre recreation ground with less flooding
- New pavilion, following requests from Councillors Ian Lewis and Lesley Rennie
- Community Use Agreement for the new sports facilities
- Updated play areas at Wallacre and also Harrison Parks
- Tree planting with a minimum of 235 trees
