One of the most frequent responses to the Town Hall's plans for 28 more cycle lanes is 'why don't they look after the existing lanes first'.

The current cycle network includes the 'Wirral Circular Trail' and 'Route 56' - the full network is on the plan below.

Conservative Councillors are asking residents for their views, ahead of a survey of the Council's 'Active Travel Forum'.

So, if you have a relatively simple improvement to the existing highway, please tell us. Examples could be a dropped crossing on a junction or a new pedestrian refuge to help people cross the road more easily (such as Bayswater Road crossing), or removal of a barrier or bollard to enable better access by wheelchairs, push chairs or bikes.

We'll then submit the suggestions to the Town Hall. Please let us have your comments by 14 November.
