Failed Fender cycle lanes: set to go?

The Wirral Globe is reporting that the Town Hall is reviewing whether to remove the failed Fender cycle lanes, ahead of closures of the M53 and traffic diversions along the bypass.

Councillor Vida Wilson said: “Time and time again, people in Moreton and Saughall Massie have said they do not want cycle lanes on Fender Lane.

“Now, the Town Hall has been forced into accepting that removing them may be the only option ahead of the M53 closing for bridge repairs.

“If these unused and unwanted cycle lanes are not removed, and pronto, there will be grid lock in Moreton.

“And, if they are removed, we don’t want them back.”
