Elections and Voting

At every election, there are people who forget to vote or who turn up but have failed to register to vote in time.  Here in Wallasey and Moreton, every vote counts.

The next election is for the election of local councillors, a Metro Mayor and a Police & Crime Commissioner in May 2021.

  • Registering to vote has never been easier. Click here and answer a few questions online - it takes around five minutes.
  • Voting by post is a great way to make sure you never miss an election because of work, holidays, family commitments or even just because of the weather on the day. Click here to apply for a postal vote.
  • Appointing a proxy is another way to make sure your vote counts. Instead of you filling in a ballot paper, you appoint someone to vote on your behalf. Click here for a form to register someone as your proxy (you'll need their permission first).

If you want to speak to anyone first, the Town Hall's Elections Unit can help - call 0151 691 8046 or email electoral@wirral.gov.uk

100 years after the first women got the right to vote, we have made huge progress in advancing women’s rights, but there is still a long way to go.
