Scrap the cycle lanes

cycle lanes

The issue:

  • Labour and Green Councillors have voted for a further 28 cycle lanes across Wirral, many in Wallasey and Moreton. Every single 'consultation' has shown a majority of people oppose the lanes. Those promoting the cycle lanes have failed to produce any evidence of demand to justify the estimated cost of £100m.

Where we stand:

  • We do not support the plans and voted against the proposals for 28 cycle lanes. We continue to challenge the failed lanes, such as Fender Lane and Harrison Drive.
